Internship Vegetable Breeding (m/f)

You will work as an integral member of a dynamic team of researchers and gain experience in plant breeding, automated and traditional phenotyping, as well as setting up and executing experiments in the open field environment. You will also be exposed to all aspects of crop management and sustainable breeding practices on multiple crops.

For our R&D department in Latina (Italy), we are currently looking for a Vegetable Breeding Intern for our team. You will support exciting innovative projects aimed at adopting new technology to solve critical breeding issues for our Global Breeding pipelines.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Design experiments in collaboration with mentor and support activities for experiment set-up and execution
  • Support the team in management of a specific aspect of the overall project
  • Support in monitoring activities and collect data, providing periodic reports
  • Conducting a literature study to search for updated research information and provide scientific context to your project
  • Analyzing and interpreting phenotypic data by means of customized statistical tools
  • Communicate your results to stakeholders
Who You Are
  • Degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Applied Biology, Biotechnology or a similar field
  • You have a desire to attain applied plant breeding research experience
  • Very good in data analytics
  • You are self-motivated, creative, innovative, independent, a networker, agile, results orientated a good team worker
  • Strong communication skills are required for written and oral presentations
  • Very good command of English is important, both written and spoken, and knowledge of Italian is required
